Police from Hillside Police station in Bulawayo have warned the public about a batch of fake $5 bond notes in circulation. According to them these notes are in batches with the following serial numbers:
- AC 6699084
- AC 3887855
- AC 1213446
The handwritten notices read:

Beware of fake bond notes in circulation. They are in $5 batches with serial numbers:
- AC 6699084
- AC 3887855
- AC 1213446

It is not clear what exactly prompted the warning but it could be several people with these notes were arrested. It is also not clear how large this fake bond operation/syndicate if any is. However, if you are a resident of Bulawayo you would do well to be vigilant when handling cash.
