Early Life                                                                                    

• He was born in 1889 in Austria at Braunau
• Hitler was an Austrian by nationality
• His father died in 1903 and his mother in 1908, this left him at 19 with a few qualifications and the problem of earning his living
• He moved to Vienna the capital of Austria where he lived in poverty for 3 years
• Later he moved to Munich and joined the Germany army in 1914
• He was wounded twice in the war
• After the war he gained recognition by hobbling on crutches long after his leg wounded in war had healed
• He led a simple personal life such that he did not smoke, drink or eat meat
• He liked the company of pretty women
