  • The Portuguese grew the following crops in their prazos:
  • Rice
  • Maize
  • Groundnuts
  • Cotton
  • Coffee
  • Tea
  • Burley

N.B The Portuguese introduced some of these crops to Zimbabwe and Africa for the first time for example maize. They also introduced cassava in other parts of Africa.
